Planning
for Teaching
In CRPAOS, I have to teach Primary
because they have English Program. And the teacher of Primary is a native
speaker of English. So I got Primary 2, that is Teacher Frank Ruse’s class. He
comes from United States of America. He has been teach in CRPAO almost 2 years.
He asked me to observe his class. Then i come with him. He introduced me to the
students and gave me time with them to know more about each other.

Preparing
Lessons and Materials
Teacher Frank arranged his lesson plans
and materials by himself, referring to the lesson plan that used by CRPAO. He
always prepare the stuffs before teaching, and he brings that things into the
class. When I observe his class, he brings cardboard boxes into the class, with
the scissors and glues. So the kids have to make something that related to the
lesson.

Teaching
in Class
When I observe Teacher Frank’s class, he
taught about Present Simple. He used projector while teaching. He used the 4
steps learning in CRPAO. First, he greets the students and begin the lesson
with Do Now activity. He asked students about their activities before going to
school. Then, he continue with the second step, Purpose. He tells the students
about the purpose of this lesson. So he explain about Present Simple and ask
the students everything that used Present Simple.
“What time do you go to
sleep?” he asked Team.
“I
go to bed at 8.” Team answered.
Then Teacher Frank asked another
student.
“What time did he goes
to sleep?” he asked Sheena, referring to Team.
“He
goes to sleep at 8.” Sheena answered.
And Teacher Frank repeated it over and
over again until the students got the point about Present Simple.
The third step is Work Mode. He gave
worksheets to the students and wait for them to finish it. He always walking
around to make sure that the students do their worksheet. The last step is
Reflective. So he recall the lesson that has been taught and make sure students
can understand about Present Simple.
4.
Measurement
and Evaluation
Teacher Frank using worksheets and quizes for
evaluation. But sometimes he asked students to make a project related to the
lesson.
