There are 4 steps in
teaching. Do Now, Purpose, Work Mode, and Reflection. On Do Now step, teacher
can show a picture and let the students to speak first, letting them to give
opinions about a topic. Teacher can show any picture, even if it’s not related
with the materials that will be learned. Then the Purpose step, teacher explain
about the purpose of this lesson. The ability that student can have after the
lesson. On Work Mode step, students do the tasks like creating mind map, diagram,
or fill the worksheet. The last step is Reflection. Teacher ask the summaries
or conclusion about the lesson.

Materials and Innovation
There are 10 learning
tools. First, the Consider All Factors (CAF). This tool can lead the students
to think in different angles. Second is Cause and Effect tool, that encourage
students to be more reasonable and think about the cause and effect in any
topics or situations that discuss in class. Third is Compare and Contrast,
looking or the differences or similarities of one topics. Fourth is Know Want
Learned (KWL). Know is what the students already know about a topic. Want is
what the students want to know. And Learned is what the students have learnt
about a topic. Fifth is Ranking. This tool encourage students to have more
critical thinking skill.

The sixth tool is Six
Thinking Hats, consist of White (the data), Yellow (positive things), Black
(critical thinking), Green (creative thinking), Red (emotion or feelings), and
Blue (summaries) hats. The seventh is Plus Minus Interest (PMI), can be used to
review a current situation or consider a future one. The eighth is Other Point
of View (OPV) that allow students to put theirselves in others’s opinion. The
ninth and tenth is Diagram and Mind Mapping. This is the common one in
Indonesia. Students can represent their ideas and concepts in graphical way.

classroom.
